the only positives this year will be trade options and the draft

Wooohooo we got a new goalie!!!!

Steve Emery, who has played very good hockey in all four of his starts to date, will return to the Flyers' net tonight. Otherwise, the team is likely to use the same lineup as Saturday.

Thought that was supposed to be last year except we kept everyone and went on a winning streak at the end and made things tougher for us in the draft.

If Steve Emery has a bad game tonight does Ray Mason get the next start?

wow, that own-goal was really bad. plus they've lost two in a row and are playing pretty inconsistent hockey......probably means that tonight they figure it all out and look like a SC contender. long season alert, folks

Call me crazy but I like the direction the team is headed in. I also don't think Giroux and Vorachek will be kept off the scoreboard for the entire year.

I can't wait to see this team playing with some confidence.

so do i but i'm still thinking by the time they do start to play with confidence it might be too late, and at the end of the year we'll all be reciting the "man if only they didn't COMPLETELY suck for the first _____ of the season....." chant as they battle for the 8th seed.
and i'm also about tired of players coming to philly and not delivering. when was the last time a player signed here and was consistently as good or better than he was on his old team? or when did one of our home grown guys play well and just keep getting better and better? i know there are a few but they are the exception, it seems. watching tom brady pull off another comeback win and david ortiz smash a game tying slam in the 8th makes me envious of new england fans and watching victorino not suck anymore makes me want to crush something

Lappy, Pronger, Voracek, Simmonds, Talbot, Mason (so far) off the top of my head.

In all seriousness.. do you find it crazy that Biron is almost 20 years removed from his first NHL start in 1995

Name a player that has been as good or better on any team than he was on his old team. Very rarely does that happen, and in the cases that it does, it is usually a diamond in the rough case.

There is a reason said player isnt with his old team.

And its still a rare thing to have happen.

Part of the problem is that most of the players we are signing are older.

Fastest reflexes in the league + best puckhandling skills. Yup, that wouldn't be too shabby
